The Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES) organized, on April 29, 2025, a day of reflection dedicated to the future of oases in Morocco, in a context marked by the worsening effects of climate change.

This meeting, which brought together a diverse panel of experts in several fields — oasis ecosystems, climate change, water resource management, forest ecosystems, agriculture, agro-industry, and more — served to update knowledge and cross perspectives to better understand recent developments related to the challenges of developing and preserving oases. It also provided an ideal opportunity to identify the multiple issues facing these vulnerable territories, envision future scenarios for these unique ecosystems, and generate innovative ideas to strengthen their resilience and sustainability.
