Accompanied by a high-level delegation, Professor Kevin URAMA, Senior Advisor to the President of theAfrican Development Bank and Senior Director of the African Development Institute, carried out a working visit on March 22, 2019 to the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies (IRES).

Following the presentation of the activities and missions of the two institutions, the exchanges focused on the issues and the levers of change necessary for an autonomous development of Africa within the framework of a "leapfrog" approach.

Professor URAMA put the emphasis on the importance of South-South cooperation in promoting intra-African sharing of knowledge. He highlighted the vision of the African Development Institute, which prioritizes the bolstering of African capacities in terms of developing and evolving the public policies.

He invited IRES to lead the Virtual Academy for the Development of the African Capacities, a network of African think tanks dedicated to apprising strategic decision-making in the continent. Professor URAMA expressed his wish to see the establishment of a communication strategy for the radiation of IRES, on an African scale.
