The differences between strategic planning and scenario planning: ·Strategic planning is about one organization; scenario planning usually has a broader scope e.g. an industry or a geographical area. ·Strategic planning implies that the organization can set and achieve its targets regardless of its environment by asking three broad questions: 'Where are we now? Where do we want to be? How can we get there?' Scenario planning takes a broader range of factors into account sometimes implying that the organization has no control over its environment. Scenario planning is often done as an input to strategic planning - but rarely vice versa. Glossary of futures studies terms
